Be still my soul

When you feel afraid and you aren't completely sure why or what sparked the fear in the first place. When your soul longs for peace and calm and joy ... Be still my soul.
I want to feel at peace - to have unwavering faith that everything will work out as it is intended to be, to embrace the present of now for all of the good and bad, light and dark this life offers, yet what I feel is stuck - behind - afraid - unprepared - unable - unseen ... I hear unworthy - not enough, and the list goes on.
Today I read these words from (in)courage - "There is only one thing more powerful than fear; it’s love... Audacious love for others is where we walk in freedom from being afraid." (Kristen Welch)
Last night my soul found rest in Ann Voskamp's words "Sometimes God calms the storms — and sometimes the storms still swirl and He calms our fears."
Last week my heart found joy in spending time with my family, especially the little's ...

If there is one thing I am sure, I know my ability to love others is Gods gift for this life of mine. So I will hold fast to the notion that my heart is meant to love and in this loving, I will find freedom from the fears of this world.

Freedom to feel peace - enough - worthy - joy - sorrow - light and dark.

Freedom to embrace the "beautiful mess" each hour, day and week as it comes.

Be still my soul.

Thru thorny ways leads to a joyful end... To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
Be still, my soul:
The waves and winds still know His voice who ruled them while he dwelt below.
Be still, my soul:
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul:
When change and tears are past, All safe and blessed we shall meet at last
